As you may know the branch is a member of FRESh and I just wanted to check whether you know about the Fairness, Respect, Equality Shropshire (FRESh) launch in Shrewsbury on 21 March -  you can register by going to
FRESh is a new Community Benefit Society (community co-op) set up in June last year to campaign, challenge and educate on equality and anti-discrimination issues across Shropshire.
You will see from the invitation and programme (which is available on the webiste - that it will be a great event. We have two key presentations; one on austerity and equality from John Low of the Joseph Rowntree Foundation - a rare opportunity in Shropshire to hear somebody from that highly-respected organisation - and the other on the importance of equality in Shropshire from Jackie Jeffrey from Citizens Advice Shropshire, bringing their grass roots equality experience to the event.
There are displays, discussions and information on
"                                    Challenging skills
"                                    E&D campaigning
"                                    Rural social and economic exclusion
"                                    Effective community engagement
We don't often see equality highlighted in this very public way in Shropshire - it would be a shame to miss it! It is also a good opportunity to share the good work done by Unison.
